Campaign for A Fair Hearing Application Copy: To Be Signed and Returned. The Campaign for A Fair Hearing Application for Membership/Renewal The Aims of the Campaign To hasten the day when any person or group can expect a fair hearing, whether in a court of law or the court of public opinion; to encourage constitutional reform; to widen public debate. Duration of Agreement Member Organisations may terminate their participation via written request at any time. Alterations to printed material will be made as soon as practicable. Eligibility Any campaign, voluntary organisation, charity, cooperative, political group, religious organisation, trade union, professional association, business, local authority or other body consistent with the aims of the campaign is eligible for Membership. Conditions of Membership Member Organisations will endorse the Initiative for Equality & Justice:
Joining Fee & Contributions No joining fee is required. Contributions to specific projects, i.e., publishing an advertisement, may be solicited, but are voluntary. Activities All activities are optional. Campaign activities and materials will be consistent with the aims of the Campaign. Administration The Adviser to Action for Justice (pressure group for ministerial accountability), Suzon Forscey-Moore, shall be the unsalaried Organiser in charge of administration, delegating responsibility as the need and opportunity arises. Reports The Organiser is answerable to the Members but the provision of formal published reports shall be made at her discretion. Authorised Expenditures Documented standard expenses (advertisements, postage, printing, telephone, travel and other standard campaigning costs) shall be deemed authorised. The Campaign's sole bank account will be with Lloyd's Bank, Sidney Street, Cambridge. Accountability The Organiser welcomes comments, suggestions and criticism and any Member Organisation may request a written response to a complaint. Member Organisations will periodically receive a contact list of other Members. The Organiser does not "own" the Campaign, but is accountable to the Members who are free to reorganise at any time. However, a charity may conduct reasonable advocacy of causes which directly further its objects and which are ancillary to the achievement of those objects [emphasis added]. Charitable status should not therefore be jeopardised by membership of the Campaign. Please print clearly.
