Firms listed so far Anthony Collins Solicitors. Birmingham. Have been known to act against the rights of the disabled e.g. representing the Shaftesbury Society against ourselves and have no understanding of disabled individuals whatsoever. Their medical negligence team has acted with biased expert witnesses and also works with AVMA. They have also acted against the code of practice with respect to conflict of interest. They are free to challenge this view. We recommend that this firm is not used for medical litigation. Challinors Lyons Clark, Birmingham. A firm of solicitors on AVMA's lists. Do not use Mr Richard T Follis whom we have had experience with. He has abused many clients with his rude comments and also has failed on a case with respect to a disabled gentleman aged 26 years old. Mr Follis may be prominent in his field of work but yet he has not served the public fairly. Taylor & Emett. The solicitor was told by an expert witness that there was no way we were going to prove negligence against a fellow orthopaedic surgeon. Instead of telling me this the solicitor continued to instruct him and took him to conference with counsel which resulted in an unfavourable opinion and legal aid being discharged. The solicitor knew that the experts statement was not an opinion based on the medical facts but a personal opinion based on professional loyalty. Counsel on this occassion was Dr Margarat Branthwaite who accepted ridiculous statements from the expert without question. Shortly after the conference she left independant practice to work for the MDU! If anyone has any Solicitor firms who have acted against the solicitors code of practice please inform us anonymously is you wish.
