GP Jayne Donegan -Not Guilty GP Jayne Donegan - cleared of any professional misconduct but how many people are aware of this? This is what the Daily Mail had to say about it prior to her hearing. Dr Jayne Donegan, was accused by a judge as ‘peddling junk science’ when she gave evidence for two mothers. They were both fighting attempts by their former partners to have their children given childhood immunisations. The mothers felt that the childhood vaccinations were unnecessary and possibly dangerous. Dr Donegan, a GP and a homeopath with more than 20 years' experience in practise, was accused by the GMC of failing in her duty to the court by giving selective evidence. She was accused of Serious Professional Misconduct . Read the website here for the rest of the piece. This is what Dr Donegan had to say :- "I have always maintained that the court evidence I gave was based on objective, independent and unbiased research and I'm pleased that this has been recognised by today's verdict. This has been a very distressing time for me and my family and I would like to thank those who have supported me throughout, and to the legal team assembled by the Medical Defence Union and led by Ian Stern QC. I am looking forward to continuing my work, offering my patients the best care I possibly can." The MDU have told Jayne that she is allowed no Media coverage. When Jayne asked why they stated it was usual in controversial cases like hers. The GMC having caused a vilification of the doctor by the press releases and media coverage, her defence union now tells the doctor that she cannot publicise the fact she was cleared. Anyway, in dedication to the General Medical Council Press Office who is responsible for the vast majority of media vilification of many innocent doctors, we present the Donegan Transcripts. Read Dr Jayne Donegan's website here. Well done Jayne. Good Luck for the future.
