NHS Exposed WINS PRINT MEDIA COMMUNICATOR AWARDS We would like to thank all our writers and our webmasters for the hard work that has ensured the current award for us. While the many authorities in the United Kingdom continue to sniff the morning air when it comes to our site, pretending it does not exist or that it has no part to play in the welfare of society, the high traffic and also wonderful visitors worldwide have ensured that our popularity serves those who require it most. While we are almost six months behind due to the high volume of material submitted to us, our success has been due to the participants, doctors, patients and their relatives who have dared to debate and raise the issues that are required in a world were free speech is rare. I would like to thank my webmasters for their hard work ( with very little pay), Dr Sushant Varma, Dr Mark Ponnapalam, Mr Mal Bowen, Ms Margaret Salsbury, the Clementi family, the Mendonca sisters and Paul Burnell and those doctors who shall remain nameless but nevertheless contribute our site. Finally, my sisters for their severest criticisms as doctors to ensure a more balanced view is presented. I hope that this award encourages others to come forward and state their opinions on the injustices that continue within the health system. While the media continue to pretend our site does not exist, the emails we recieve states that the site assists many people who require assistance and information. Our severest criticism has come from the medical profession who have called this site " deranged or mad". Change is always hard for the traditionalist establishment. It is time we had an open culture of medicine where honesty is held in high regard and the gap between doctor and patient is narrowed to ensure communication. While we are not popular for opening the dark world of medicine to the public, it must be acknowledged that for a system to improve, we must expose their flaws. I would like to thank the public and those who have supported this site through its turbulent times. Empowerment is paramount and your view can save the next person. From our humble beginnings where we started our site with £10 and no resources, my webmasters have worked tirelessly to build a site that competes with those which are funded and supported by authorities. We hope this will inspire others to ensure that one voice can be heard through the world merely by hard work and determination. An example of a gentleman who has succeeded by our example is Mr Francesco Errante (http://www.margherita-caminita.com/) who has continued to fight for his mother for many years - only with the use of the internet. We hope others will be encouraged to follow his example of initiative and detrmination to achieve justice. Thankyou for your continued support and please continue to visit our site in the future. The Communicator Award is a credit to our writers and also webmasters who continue to work tirelessly because we all stand for our beliefs and will continue to do so for the forseable future no matter what trails and tribulations are placed in our way. Kind Regards
